Rob M.
Class of June ‘08
Rob was enrolled at The Family Foundation School on August 21 of ’06. Prior to his enrollment, Rob was deep into alcohol and violence, and was powerless over his actions. “Even after my arrival, life was nothing but struggles,” he stated. He struggled greatly with his pride, which usually tossed him on sanctions and got him into more trouble. Through the struggles, though, Rob learned how to grieve over the loss of his mother and how to relate to his sponsor, Ed Becker.
“My stay got easier and smoother as I got honest and started working,” said Rob. He began to do as he was told, went to grief group and soon found God. He suddenly became a lot friendlier and began helping other students with their program.
Rob graduated in June ’08 and is now attending Marywood University. He has a good job at the Hilton Hotel, and is attending meetings regularly. Rob is still in close contact with many alumni from FFS, and talks to his sponsor daily. “To the newcomer: No matter what your obstacle is, you got to fight through it to become a better person.”
