Zeke G.
Class of December ‘09
Zeke G. arrived at The Family Foundation School in February of 2008. His life at home revolved around getting high, lying, stealing, and disregarding his family. His stay at the school was not an easy one, and he was constantly in the corner for lying and other self-destructive behaviors.
When Zeke switched families about a year into his stay, he began to experiment with the principles of the program and made a turn for the better. “I gave up my will and developed a spiritual connection,” said Zeke. “The best part about being at the school was being given the opportunity to help kids, especially my sponsees,” he said.
Since graduating in December of ‘09, Zeke has been busy going to AA meetings, keeping in contact with other alumni, and going to school. He has struggled with temptation in the form of AA’s “people, places, and things. “When I left FFS, I found a sponsor and talked to him every day, went to meetings, and found a supportive group of friends,” said Zeke.
Zeke is attending school at Tunxis Community College. He goes to concerts, has friends and is enjoying life outside of The Family School. He misses his friends at the school and is grateful for all that the school has given him. “Keep your chin up, believe in yourself, and talk to your sponsor every day,” Zeke advises current students.
