John R.
Class of December ‘09
John R. graduated from The Family Foundation School in December of 2009 and has been enjoying his time living outside the school.
John arrived at FFS in April of 2008. He was sent to the school for living a life of lies, disrespect, and destructive behavior. He struggled with being away from home, being honest, and letting go of his old way of life. John was in Family Three for most of his stay. He was switched to Smith House during his last six months to act as a senior support.
John learned to trust people and began to apply the tools of the program to his life. “Chris Stein was my biggest help because he always was honest with me and gave me what I needed,” he said. John stayed at the school for 19 months and is grateful for all that he learned and accomplished.
Since graduating John has returned home and is attending school at Morris Community College. He continues to practice the principles that he has learned at the school as well as attending Mass on Sundays, and keeping in touch with alumni. For fun he plays basketball and hangs out with his friends. He hopes to visit again for graduation in June.
