Shervin N.

Class of June ‘06

Shervin N. arrived at The Family Foundation School on August 3, 2004 after a life of craziness and using drugs and alcohol. During his stay, he didn’t like people telling him what to do, which put him into many power struggles and fights with the students and staff. “I couldn’t watch the NY Knicks or Jets play either… that was difficult.” Shervin said, comically.

After awhile, with the help of his peers, staff and his sponsor, Shervin started to take suggestions and began to try the program. His progress led him to receiving an anchor pin and other responsibilities. Shervin graduated FFS in June 2006 and has been happy and sober ever since. A favorite memory he has from the school is when he made a basket in the fourth quarter of a sectional basketball game. Shervin currently keeps in contact with many FFS alumni and goes to meetings regularly. He looks to God and his close friends and family for help and advice.

“If you’re fairly new to The Family School, I recommend you give it a try. Just make sure you’re honest. And if you’re graduating in June, get connected with AA and get involved,” said Shervin during a Sunday night AA meeting in the gym.
