Secretive Energy Company Unveils New Technology
By Brendan O.
A notoriously secretive fuel cell company, called Bloom Energy has decided to unveil their very mysterious and possibly revolutionary new technology; it may change the way we look at energy.
It’s called the “Bloom Box,” and it is already being tested by 20 big name companies, such as Google, eBay, FedEx, Staples and Wal-Mart. Each large box can power 100 homes and costs between $700,000 and $800,000. Bloom Energy hopes to be able to market smaller units for homes at around $3,000 within the next 5-10 years.
The “box” runs on oxygen and natural gas but it does not burn so it produces no harmful emissions.
Bloom Energy also hopes that rather than replacing the electrical grid, their new product could become the electrical grid by allowing electric companies to use their boxes to power our cities.
