The beautiful weather has sprung and so has the exercise. Almost every day students at The Family Foundation School have found the time in their busy schedules to go outside and enjoy some physical activity.
Staff members Carlton Williams and Kurt Hock run with the students during the course of the week, helping them work on their endurance.
“There’s no better way to find relief than when you’re jogging with friends, with the wind blowing through your hair,” said Kurt Hock after a beautiful Thursday afternoon run.
The students run about two and a half miles or more each class, depending on their endurance.
“Running keeps me healthy and gives me confidence; it really gives me a fresh start on the day,” said student Jack S. after his two-and-a-half mile run.
More students are signing up for the class, anticipating losing weight and getting fit.
Students also take the time on weekends to lace up their shoes and enjoy a run in the sun. “I am glad to see how the running program has taken off. Students are given the opportunity to run one, two, or three days a week. There are 40 to 45 students involved,” said Williams. “Running is a great sport that can benefit you mentally, physically, spiritually, and gives you what is known as a natural high.”
