James Rich
James Rich died in Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale at the age of 75 on June 1, 2010.
Born in Johnson City, N.Y., on August 5,1934, he was the son of George and Amelia Rich.
Jim married Sylvia Smith in the Shekehawken Methodist Church in October 1958. They had two daughters, Linda and Amy, as well as one son, David.
Jim worked at The Family Foundation School for a number of years in Family One (Betton House). Terry McCarthy said that Jim loved being with the kids and was always willing to help. “He never had anything bad to say about anybody,” said Iris Maclean, a friend of Jim’s. “Jim loved hunting and fishing.
He was a very hard working man,” said Ed Anderson. Jim was also very grateful to be sober.
“Jim Rich was a long time friend and always had a joke,” added Bob Runge.
As Jim so often said, “Be humble, it always works.”
