Masterpiece revealed ... Father Stephen and Yuri Kuchukov stand in front of the newly blessed cross.

For months, Yuri Kuchukov painted. “It is not easy, this may be the most difficult one [painting] I have done in my life. It is not easy to paint a crucifiction.” On Sunday, June 6, the crucifix was officially revealed to the school. Kruchukov paints in an iconic style. He uses a kind of paint that starts dark, and every additional brushstroke on the canvas lightens the color. “He painted the cross with his blood.” Said Father Stephen about Kuchukov. The painting was done in Kuchukov’s small studio in his home. He worked for hours a day. Frank D., a student at The Family Foundation School said “Yuri put a lot of his time and devotion into something for our school and he came out with something beautiful.”
