Betton House Becomes FFS’ First all Boy House

By Alex R.

Congratulations Betton House, you may now throw out every copy of “The Notebook” and let the testosterone run wild because you are now an all boy family.

After June graduation the school was left with only 27 girls. The administration decided that it would be better to divide the remaining girls among three families as opposed to all four in order to maintain a reasonable number of girls in each house.

In the same decision, the administration moved all of the boys in the Dog Corps into Betton House to replace the girls leaving. It is the first time in the 25 year history of the school that there is a single gender family.

Since the decision was made public there have been mixed reactions among the students. Some argue that since all the girls are out of the family, the boys will be able to focus on their responsibilities more and will no longer have to worry about flirting or lust. Others think it is necessary for body and girls to be in the same family so they can learn how to build brother – sister relationships.

“I think it is going to take getting used to, but one month in and our family seems to be doing well and really getting along,” said Dean of students and Betton House family leader Ann Janauer.
