FFS Blood Drive

By Dani R.

In accordance with the biennial Family Foundation School Blood Drive, the Red Cross was here again on Monday, August 20th; with their white lab coats, smiling faces, soft-baked cookies, and grateful hearts. The flyer reads “It’s a pint for you, but for another it could be a life saved.” It continues, “It feels good to give the gift of life.” Especially for The Family School students, it is remarkably rewarding and gratifying to offer a little bit of ourselves for the purpose of a greater good.

Talk about a “spirit of charity,” some kids actually had a meaningful programmatical experience. Senior Michael C., a doner, said, “It was absolutely surreal to know that my own blood will one day be pumping through the heart of another human being. A little pinch and a few minutes of my time is the least I can do to make a small, yet monumental, contribution to this world.” Live and let live; that’s what it’s all about.

Awesome work Dani! What an epic piece of work. Michael’s quote was quite profound and moving at the same time. That picture speaks volumes of the life giving moment for both donor and red cross guy!!!! You captured such a genuine and generous gift of humanity beautifully!!!!! I find the Family times publication, thoughtful, inspiring, enlightening and thought provoking all at the same time. How do you do it? keep up the good work guys! You ROCK!!!!!
