The Family School went to their first ever Cross Country meet on September 11 at Liberty High School. The Family was racing against 5 other schools, all of whom had more experienced teams. The 5 teams were from Monticello, Sullivan West, Eldred, and Livingston Manor. The Family did exceptionally well considering they beat 3 of the 5 schools at their first meet. The distance of the run was 2.8 miles, just short of a 5K. Rob H. came in 8th place out of 34 runners, achieving his goal. Shannon S., coming in 15th place, was the only girl running on behalf of the Family School. The rest of the team did well also, having a team average of about 22 minutes.
